Okta Configuration Guide

Prerequisites

You must be a Reward Builder admin and have access to the app Client ID and Client Secret in Okta in order to configure the Okta integration.

Supported features

Reward Builder supports both Service Provider (SP)-Initiated Authentication Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity Provider (IdP)-Initiated SSO using your Okta tenant.

SP-Initiated SSO works through a link hosted on the Reward Builder site. New users will be directed to this link in their account activation email, and the link may be copied from the Integrations page in Reward Builder.

IdP-Initiated SSO works by clicking the Reward Builder icon in your Okta environment.

Configuration steps

1. Sign in to Reward Builder and go to the dashboard.
2. Select Manage Integrations.
   
3. Copy the Group ID
   
4. In another tab sign in to the Okta dashboard, navigate to Applications and then click Browse App Catalog.
5. Search for Reward Builder and add the application.
6. Paste the Group ID from Reward Builder into the appropriate text box.
7. Copy the Okta Domain, Client ID and Client Secret from the application in Okta and paste into the integration box in Reward Builder, then click Save.
   
   

Logging in to Reward Builder using Okta

1. Copy the SSO Login URL from the Okta section of the integrations page in Reward Builder.
   
2. This URL will take users to the Okta sign page.
3. After signing in users will be redirected to the Reward Builder dashboard.
4. Existing users with Reward Builder credentials will need to enter their Reward Builder password the first time they sign in with Okta.
